Listen up Fargo tech startups! Here’s your chance to be awarded Tech.Co’s Startup of the Year.

Every year, Tech Cocktail (a Tech.Co production) hosts an online competition for Startup of the Year. It starts with competitions in selected regions, from San Francisco to Vancouver to Fargo, before moving to a final competition called Celebrate, which lasts for 3 days in Las Vegas and gives startups a chance to pitch their ideas to a large audience.

Last year two of Fargo’s startups, Booth and Medytex, competed in Las Vegas for the Startup of the Year title.

The Greater Fargo-Moorhead Economic Development Corporation provided financial backing for startups to make the trip to the conference, and plan on doing so again this year, according to John Machacek.

While neither took home the final prize, they testified that it was a good experience in pitching and presenting startups to investors. Not to mention an all around good time.

Here’s what to do:

1. If you’re in Fargo and have a tech startup, apply here! Then you’ll need to fill in information about your company; what problems your company solves, what your competition looks like, etc. Note: there is a small fee to apply.

Applications are due by Tuesday, July 14, @ 5:00 PM EST.

2. There will be two winners, one chosen by Tech.Co and one chosen by their readers. Voting will take place between July 16 – 30.

3. Winners of each competition will be recognized as Fargo’s local Startup of the Year and become a semifinalist to compete at Celebrate 2015 for the global title of Tech.Co’s Startup of the Year! This will take place from October 4-6 in Las Vegas.
