About Tate Howe
Tate’s journey began in Minnesota, where he was learning the grocery and retail business from his mentor. One day, his mentor brought him a bag of pretzels made in North Dakota by a well known woman, Dot. Shortly thereafter, they visited Dot in Velva, ND to experience her magic and see if they could be involved in any way. As fate would have it, Tate pivoted from retail to manufacturing, joining Dot as her first sales and marketing hire. This pivot ended up being the turning point in his career, as he was fortunate to be part of a company and build a sales team that dominated the pretzel industry. As Dot’s Pretzels was being acquired, Tate decided to embark on his next journey: Get Coffee’d. After leaving Dot’s, he moved back to Minnesota from Kansas and started learning how to make candy. Inspired by an idea for a caffeinated treat focused on the coffee segment, Tate spent a couple of years on research and development. Now, he has come full circle, back in Velva, ND, at the original Dot’s Pretzels plant with the same magical team, creating a new product.
