Got an idea and want to share it? Local businesses in Barnesville, Minnesota are hosting a no-strings attached, open contest for those looking to “spark” their startup idea – and you could win up to $1,000!
The Barnesville Business Pitch contest will be held on Friday, Aug. 22nd at 6:30 pm at the Old City Hall council chambers in Barnesville. Here’s how it works: contestants give a five minute pitch of their idea to the judge’s panel of entrepreneurial sponsors. Based on the presentation and the question and answer session, five winners will be chosen to receive a prize. The winners will receive up to a $1,000 cash prize, mentoring hours by current business owners, and will be featured at the city’s annual Potato Days Festival. A People’s Choice award will also be awarded based on online voting results. This event is sponsored by Stoneridge Software, Dean’s Bulk Service, Crown Appraisals and the Barnesville Economic Development Authority.
