North Dakota continues to be a place leading with innovation thanks to forward-thinking companies and communities embracing growth. With Sanford Health’s recently-announced partnership with TytoCare, convenient health care can now call the prairie home.
Telehealth has a new look in the form of TytoCare, the health care industry’s first all-in-one modular device and telehealth platform for on-demand, remote medical exams. By partnering with TytoCare, Sanford Health is the exclusive TytoHome provider in the region, spanning North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa. “Patients that purchase the device can connect with Sanford clinicians remotely from wherever they are. This has been especially popular with parents with small children, snowbirds and even college students,” said Dr. Doug Griffin, chief medical officer for Sanford Health Fargo.
Innovation in health care isn’t just focused on the members of the community most prone to needing elevated care. Systems like TytoCare offer convenient and top-of-the-line access to skilled physicians and advanced practice providers in Sanford Health. Patients, who could be anyone from a school nurse to a busy mom to a businessman with a busy schedule or a senior citizen who would rather not navigate away from the comforts of their home just to go to the doctor.
The device, available online, at Sanford Healthcare Accessories stores and at area Best Buy stores, is used along with the mobile app to have live, guided physical exams with a Sanford provider for any acute or urgent health needs. The device is not designed to take the place of emergency care or regular physicals. If medication is prescribed, the provider sends the prescription electronically to the pharmacy of the patient’s choosing.
For Sanford, introducing a component like its new partnership with TytoCare means it is increasing its stake in the virtual medical market. Being at the top of innovation is important to not only Sanford’s growth, but it falls in line with their goal of providing the most-complete service to its patients. Meeting the patients when and where it’s most convenient for them means more people have access to top tier health care. “Using the device can save patients and their families travel and time, as they can engage with our team whenever and wherever it is convenient,” Dr. Griffin said.
By partnering with TytoCare, Sanford Health is a unique medical provider offering same-day, almost-immediate appointments to diagnose conditions like ear infections, sinus infections, cold and flu, aches and pains, urinary tract infections, rashes, and pink eye, without the need for the patient to leave their home. Sanford offers medical expertise. TytoCare offers the ideal patient experience on the device. Fargo and other innovative communities in North Dakota offer the challenge to companies like Sanford Health to stay on top of the latest technological advancements.
