Ricky Pallay is the founder of Pallay Enterprises, which is the umbrella from which other aspects of his business fall under. Right now, the primary business is a club, festival, and mobile DJ, as 1PrettyRicky, serving corporate clients, venues, wedding couples and universities.. He also offers MC/Host/Officiant services, graphic design services, and promotion services.
“I love what I do, and I want you to love it too. Whatever service I am providing, the mission remains the same, it is more than just entertainment; I am providing an experience.”
Ricky first attended Minnesota State University Moorhead, and finished his coursework at University of Phoenix, graduating with a BS in Management.
He chose to take the entrepreneurial route from the encouragement of his Dad. Ricky started his first business when he was 19, as a mobile notary in Pasadena, CA. He ran this successful business for nearly 5 years before selling it to another company and moving to Fargo. Ricky shared, “Although my interests changed, I never lost the spirit of an entrepreneur, eventually deciding to pursue it again with an experience company.”
“I have always loved music, which I believe came from my Dad who used to be a DJ growing up in Jamaica, Queens. I had both my musical taste and business prowess from watching him, so when I was ready to start another business, I decided I want to become a DJ and operate a company.”
“My highest point of my entrepreneurial journey was being able to sell my notary business. This was not easy to let go, but I was so happy that I could show that my business was ran well, worth the money, and that I found a company who was able to acquire it. I think the lowest point of my journey came from the challenge of finding creative sources of income, when quarantines and safety measures due to COVID-19 canceled or postponed all revenue streams I had. Club bookings, private & public events, weddings, and the like were all no more.”
After going through the highs and lows, Ricky shares the best ways for people to support his journey, “There is room for everyone who would like to join the Pretty Posse!” For those who are comfortable, experiencing a show in real life is the most supportive! He posts all of his in-person and streaming events on his public events calendar here.
“If you prefer virtual options, I ask two things: One) please “engage” on my social media profiles, not just like my Facebook or follow my Instagram/Twitch/Twitter/etc. (I personally read everything and I try to respond to everyone!) Two) I have a podcast on Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music called “COLOR {house mixes} Podcast,” so please subscribe on either platform!”
