All of it – the brainstorming, the bootcamps, the presentations – it all comes down to this. This afternoon, at NDSU’s Innovation Challenge Awards Luncheon at the Fargodome, nine teams be awarded a total of $20,000 in cash prizes, including a People’s Choice award.

Innovation Challenge

But everyone knows it’s more than just the money. These students have come up with an idea that could potentially turn into much more. Here on the blog we covered quite a few (you probably noticed) of these student’s ideas. There was the re-designed clothes hanger, a new program to rent STEM resources to teachers, a multi-axial drone, paper-thin RFID tags, an adaptive track wheelchair – and those are just a handful of the 23 teams that will present today.

From this experience, one thing is made clear: local students are brimming with ideas. You never know which one could become the next big startup here in Fargo, ND.

“This the catalytic moment,” said Dean Bresciani, as he addressed the Innovation Challenge participants. “Our belief is that every successful company starts with an innovative idea.”

Be sure to come and see the final awards today at 11:30 am at the Fargo Dome.
