Fargo N.D. – Emerging Prairie announces a special edition of StartupBREW Fargo on Wednesday, June 30th from 8:30 to 9:15 am at Fargo’s Broadway Square. This event will feature Connor McGovern with Able Games; and Monique and Jocelyne Lamoureux who will be speaking about their book, Dare to Make History.
StartupBREW Fargo is a weekly event on Wednesday mornings to learn, support, and inspire. This morning meetup is for community members to come together and explore the entrepreneurial journey. Coffee begins at 8:00 am and the main event takes place at 8:30 am featuring a preview of Trollwood Performing Art School’s production of Cinderella, and a Q&A session with the headliners. Free street parking is available downtown.
Connor McGovern, Fargo native, was drafted into the NFL in 2016 and continues his career today as a center for the New York Jets. McGovern wanted to give back to the community that shaped him, so he partnered up with TNT fitness to give individuals of all abilities the opportunity to experience his ultimate passion – competition. The Fargo Able Games is the region’s first all-inclusive test of functional fitness, celebrating the abilities of all its competitors. They held their first annual Able Games this year in Downtown Fargo, establishing a tradition for years to come.
The Lamoureux twins are North Dakota natives who have been playing hockey since they were on the Peewee A Boys’ team in 2001. Since then, they have gone on the lead division A university teams, won three olympic championships, and become activists in gender equity within the sports industry. They recently published their first book, Dare to Make History, sharing their lifetime of experiences on and off the ice.
