This month’s Startup Drinks is sponsored by CoSchedule. Maybe you heard of them when they were selected to present at Google’s Demo Day, or recently when their co-founders – Justin Walsh and Garret Moon – announced that they are bringing a coworking space to Bismarck via Start Bismarck.

cos-logoWhat CoSchedule offers is a calendar for WordPress that allows you to schedule posts and organize online marketing in advance. But what they bring to North Dakota, and particularly to their headquarters in Bismarck and their outpost in Fargo at the Prairie Den, is a flurry of energy in the startup scene, and national recognition to the state as a place to find quality products.

Special thanks to CoSchedule for supporting our Startup Drinks event, and to their marketing intern Taylor Paluck for representing them as a captain. Here’s a little more about Taylor. See you on Tuesday night! (Oh, and sign up here.)

Taylor Paluck and the Honey Badger company

1. Do you have a nickname? If so, what is it?

I’ve had a couple nicknames though out my life elementary school was Tay-tay, high school was TJ, and most recently friends have been calling me Hildreth because I’m getting married in 5 months and that’s my fiancé’s last name. My favorite nickname was duce because my sport jersey number was always two and I knew my dad was watching when I heard that being cheered!

2. Any awkward tattoos?

I once had a stick-on tattoo of this dragon thing that I got out of a coin machine that ran the length of my arm, but never anything permanent… I don’t really do needles.

3. If you could describe your startup as an animal what animal would it be?

If I could describe CoSchedule as an animal it would be a honey badger, because while we might resemble other content marketing tools we are completely unique. Focusing on being an all-in-one marketing calendar we are adaptive to our audiences needs. Other options that we’re thrown out when I asked our team was a Liger and Spidermonkey. What can I say, we’re creative (:

4. What is one of the most influential books you’ve ever read?

13 Reasons Why. It made me realize how much words could hurt at a young age and that is really important to realize as early as possible.

5. If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?

If I was leaving on a jet plane (punny right?) now I would go to Iceland, there is something fascinating and untouched about it that I would love to see in person.

6. What is one the coolest places you’ve traveled?

That is a toss up between Bath, England and Avila, Spain; they are both preserved cobblestone, and are so small that all the shop owners know that you are a tourist the second you walk in. If I had to choose it would be Avila though because its original wall surrounds the city so cars can’t even get it, and it’s very medieval.

Thanks Taylor! See you all August 18, 5:30 PM at the Prairie Den!
