Our fifth and second-to-last Startup Drinks Captain for May 19 is Amanda Hanson, a Mobile Strategist at Myriad Mobile. Unfortunately, our friend Peter Schott (otherwise known as Vader Dad) had an unavoidable work engagement come up, so Hanson will be reppin’ Myriad today!
Speaking of Myriad- quick plug- Wednesday is the first day of Myriad Mobile’s Midwest Mobile Summit, one of the biggest mobile focused conferences in the nation! Check it out here. It’s going to be fantastic.
Now without further ado, our Q&A with the lovely Amanda!
Amanda “Mandi” Hanson: Mobile Strategist and Superman enthusiast
Q: Do you have a nickname?
A: If so, what is it? Yes, family and close friends call me Mandi. My Grandpa gave it to me when I was a kid.
Q: Any awkward tattoos? Please describe in detail.
A: I have one tattoo, and while I still like it, it is a bit awkward. It’s a heart with wings with the Latin phrase In Somnis Veritas above it. The translation is ‘In dreams there is truth,’ though if you take it literally it just says ‘In Sleep Truth.’ It’s also on my tricep and I’ve been told it looks vaguely like a tattoo a biker would get.
Q: If you could describe your startup as an animal what animal would it be?
A: That’s hard! I’ll go with chameleon, because we are very adaptable.
Q: What is one of the most influential books you’ve ever read?
A: No Plot? No Problem! by Chris Baty. Without it, I would never have become involved as a Municipal Liaison for National Novel Writing Month.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
A: Bali – I would love to get to experience the culture there, and it’s warm so that’s a bonus!
Q: What is one the coolest places you’ve traveled?
A: Toroverde Adventure Park in Orocovis, Puerto Rico. There is no experience quite like a superman-style zipline 1000 feet in the air.
(Wow, jealous…)
Thanks for sharing Amanda! See you all tonight at Startup Drinks!
