In the wake of CoCo Fargo closing, Emerging Prairie and the GFMEDC are exploring how to continue a coworking space in Fargo. Right now, we need your help. We need a name for the new space. After much brainstorming and whiteboard scribblin’, we’ve landed on two favorites. Check it out:
1. Centralia.
Centralia is Fargo’s original name, harkening back to when Fargo was a central stopping point for steamboats floating down the Red River during the 1870s and 1880s . According to Wikipedia: “The city was originally named “Centralia,” but was later renamed “Fargo” after Northern Pacific Railway director and Wells Fargo Express Company founder William Fargo (1818−1881).” It’s got history, and it sounds neat. Centraliaaaa.
2. Prairie Den.
The Prairie Den name was inspired by, firstly, the fact that we live in the Prairie; secondly, by the nature of prairie dogs and foxes that burrow together and create small collaborative communities of their own. Also could be nicknamed “The Den” – which is pretty cool.
