About Gunel
Gunel Huseynova, owner of Mainstream Boutique of Fargo, ND, received a master’s degree in International Relations from University of Strasbourg, France. Gunel explains that going to work is “like going to my second home” because she built it. She picked out the colors and fixtures and made it her own. Happy customers and passionate staff are what makes Gunel happy to go to work every day. Passionate staff is something Gunel focused on early in her entrepreneur journey because she knew how important it was to build a “team” that had great customer service skills, believes in the store’s story, and had strong energy! Even though it took some diligence and time, she successfully found her “team”.
About Mainstream Boutique of Fargo, ND
Mainstream Boutique was started by Marie De Nicola in 1991. It started as a direct sales company in her Minneapolis home. After she was interviewed on the Oprah Show, she received multiple calls from women around the country which inspired her to establish a franchise in 1998. About a year ago, Mainstream Boutique of Fargo was listed for sale and that’s when Gunel took notice of the franchise. After thorough research, interviews with other owners, and the realization that she could make the store her own, she decided to take the leap! Mainstream Boutique offers trendy and timeless fashion to women of all ages! Gunel explains, “We like to listen to customers, their stories and wishes. We even have a folder called, customer wish list, where we put down the names and items each customer is looking for. When we call them, they are happy we were able to find the item they wanted.” Gunel’s passion for serving her customers helps her succeed in accomplishing Mainstream Boutique’s mission each day. Their mission is “to help women to look good and feel good through fashion. To create warm and welcoming environment from the moment they walk in our store.”
