Fargo’s first Civic Hackathon this Sunday
Emerging Prairie is always psyched to see Startup Weekend teams continuing their missions weeks and months after those fateful 54 hours. Fargo’s 2014 winners, HackFargo, are doing just that: on Sunday, May 4, the gang will be hosting the city’s first Civic Hackathon. Hackathons generally have a focus on computer programming, and this specific event will also have a community orientation.
HackFargo’s goal this Sunday is to bring together the brightest individuals in the tech and civic communities in order to create something truly unique: “at the intersection of these groups lies a huge potential to develop tools to solve everyday problems and generally make life better in the Fargo-Moorhead area.” Consider joining this group during the free hackathon and assist in developing something with the potential to add value to our community at large.
HackFargo is unofficially calling this event the kickoff to Myriad Mobile’s Midwest Mobile Summit, which begins the following Monday. Things start happening at 2:00 PM at Knight Printing with introductions and a guest speaker, followed by an overview of the team’s API documentation and a breakout session until around 8:00pm for groups to start churning out ideas. If you want to become an integral part of Fargo’s new hackathon community, register here to attend on Sunday.
