Emerging Prairie is excited to welcome Christopher Korinek to the team! Christopher joins us as the Grand Farm Project Intern, where he will help with coordinating and executing key parts of the Grand Farm Innovation Framework for Emerging Prairie.

Tell us a little bit about you!
I grew up on a farm about 10 miles south of Breckenridge MN. My dad, Steve owns and operates the farm I lived on. My mom, Shawna is the director of a club for adults with mental disabilities. I have three siblings, Jonathan (26), Madeline (20), and Katie (13). I moved to Fargo to go to college at MSUM after I completed a year of college at NDSCS and have lived here ever since. Hobbies of mine include: listening to 70’s and 80’s hard rock/heavy metal, watching baseball, (specifically the MN Twins), classic cars, and hunting/fishing.
What college did you attend? What was your major?
I attended North Dakota State College of Science for a year and then transferred to Minnesota State University Moorhead where I graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in project management.
What’s one activity that energizes you?
One activity that energizes me is watching baseball. No matter what level its played on, I always find it exciting and easy to immerse and lose myself in.
If you could take a 30 day, all expense paid vacation, where or how would you spend your time?
I would go all around Europe and spend most of my time visiting World War 1 and World War 2 battle sites and museums. I would also like to take time to visit famous landmarks and scenery throughout Europe.
Do you have a favorite book or movie?
Guardians of the Galaxy is my favorite movie. Especially for the soundtrack!
What’s your favorite part about living in the FM area? What’s your favorite hidden gem that Fargo has to offer?
My favorite part of living in the FM area is that it is a larger city while still having a smaller town feel and offering a lot to do. My favorite hidden gem in Fargo has to be Duane’s House of Pizza. They have the best pizza in town!

Why are you excited to work for Emerging Prairie?
I am excited to work for Emerging Prairie because of the opportunity I have to work with the ag industry, something I’ve been around my whole life! I am also excited to see the many different opportunities at Emerging Prairie.
