Emerging Prairie is excited to welcome Carly Pfennig to the team! Carly joins us as our Marketing and Communications intern, here she will focus on managing the startup programs social medias, writing articles and finding creative ways to help spread Emerging Prairie’s mission. Carly will work on sharing content that offers insight into the journey of Emerging Prairie and the FM community.

Tell us a little bit about you!
I am from Bismarck, North Dakota! I came to Fargo/Moorhead to attend college at MSUM fall of 2022, and quickly fell in love with both Communications and Marketing. In my free time I love to go on walks, and hang out with friends! I have a love for building connections with others and offering vulnerability, I believe that every interaction has the power to be life changing!
What college did you attend? What was your major?
I go to Minnesota State University of Moorhead and am a Communications major with a minor in Marketing!
What’s one activity that energizes you?
Spending time in my faith or going for walks!
If you could take a 30 day, all expense paid vacation, where or how would you spend your time?
I would go on a cruise, not sure of the destination but that way I would be able to see multiple places during one trip to make the most of it!
Do you have a favorite book or movie?
I have always loved the book The Giver, and I love the movies Hairspray or Grease!
What’s your favorite part about living in the FM area? What’s your favorite hidden gem that Fargo has to offer?
I love the community and diversity that we have, downtown is so close knit and I love that one’s full day can be spent doing activities downtown! The Midwest nice shines through often when you find random connections- and to me those are so special! My favorite hidden gem is the record store, Orange Records Inc on first ave!

I was a choir kid growing up and have a deep appreciation for musical theatre!
Why are you excited to work for Emerging Prairie?
I am so excited to grow closer with the FM community, while making an impact that changes others outlook on life! Bringing joy to others while also inspiring them is something I find so much value in, I look forward to growing immensely with this team and community!
