Ashlyn joins us as our new Marketing and Communications Intern, where she will focus on managing Emerging Prairie social media pages, writing articles, and building creative content to tell the story of Emerging Prairie, community celebrations, and the founders ecosystem.

Tell us a little bit about you!
I grew up in Jamestown, ND and have 2 older sisters and an older brother. I enjoy playing hockey and traveling all over the United States. I came to Fargo to study at NDSU and ended up falling in love with the Fargo/Moorhead area. I am obsessed with the Red River Valley Market Downtown and love to spend my money on food and coffee.
What college did/do you attend? What was/is your major?
I currently attend NDSU with a major in Strategic Communications, a Minor in Business Administration and a certificate in Advertising and Design.
What’s one activity that energizes you?
One activity that energizes me is going for long walks outside when the weather is nice. In the winter I enjoy casually walking through skywalks.
If you could take a 30 day, all expense paid vacation, where or how would you spend your time?
I would go to Amsterdam to visit my sister and niece who I don’t get to see very often due to the long distance. After that I would spend the remainder of my time traveling across Greece.
Do you have a favorite book or movie?
Mamma Mia! and Mamma Mia! Here we go again, I am a sucker for a good musical.
What’s your favorite part about living in the FM area? What’s your favorite hidden gem that Fargo has to offer?
My favorite part about living in the FM area is all of the fun community events that are hosted here and the fact there is so much to do! My favorite hidden gem is the Red River Valley Market because it highlights some awesome local businesses.

I have a phobia of large bodies of water (specifically not being able to see land).
Why are you excited to work for Emerging Prairie?
The company culture is a really big reason why I am excited to work here. Another reason I am excited to work for Emerging Prairie is the opportunity to be part of a group that is helping the community and throwing beneficial events in the FM area.
