Emerging Prairie is excited to welcome Alexys Walker to the team! Alexys joins us as our Executive Assistant where she will assist our CEO and CIO in coordinating and managing their schedules, meetings, and correspondence, as well as other tasks based on their needs.

Tell us a little bit about you!
I grew up in the Mandan/Bismarck area with my mom, dad, younger sister and brother (they’re twins), cat, and dog. In high school, my favorite activities were volleyball, track & field, gymnastics, and Spanish club. In 2019 I made the short journey to Fargo to attend NDSU. While at NDSU, I majored in political science, minored in Spanish, and participated in various organizations, including pledging with Tri Delta Sorority and becoming a Bison Ambassador. After graduating in 2021, I moved back home and worked as a paralegal at a law firm in downtown Bismarck. Fargo has always been one of my favorite cities, and I knew it was only a matter of time before I moved back. I am so excited for the next part of my journey! My motto is that I’m always living, laughing, and loving.
What college did you attend? What was your major?
North Dakota State University – Political Science.
What’s one activity that energizes you?
Being surrounded by or connected with motivated, energizing, and inspiring people. I also get energized talking to my brother, he’s one of the funniest people I know and always makes me laugh so hard. It’s easy for him and I to goof off.
If you could take a 30 day, all expense paid vacation, where or how would you spend your time?
I would spend a month living in Madrid or Barcelona. I’d love to live like a local and visit all around Spain, including the Balearic Islands. And I’d probably take a few days to visit France or Italy.
Do you have a favorite book or movie?
The Great Gatsby (2013). I just recently got the book but haven’t read it yet, and I haven’t seen the 1974 version either, so I’m not sure yet which is the best!
What’s your favorite part about living in the FM area? What’s your favorite hidden gem that Fargo has to offer?
The community. I think Fargo is such a charming city that has something for everyone- and it keeps on growing! In the summer/ nicer weather, I love biking/walking the parks and trails we have, or just lying down soaking up the sun, or having a picnic.

I got the “Most Likely to Become President” superlative twice – once in high school and then again in college!
