This announcement may make the day for some of our more diehard fans – thanks to a productive summer and a thriving entrepreneurial community, Emerging Prairie has added a full-time writer to the team. Marisa Jackels has recently relocated from Los Angeles, California, to Fargo to begin her tenure as our Lead Writer.
Emerging Prairie had a busy summer with numerous interns and new hires adding to the organization. Now that the work of that great team has laid even more foundation, Marisa will be jumping on board as the first official Lead Writer and content creator. The role will involve numerous aspects, not least of which is attending startup events in the Fargo-Moorhead area. As a representative of Emerging Prairie, Marisa will be churning out the content our community desires.
Marisa graduated from Concordia College in 2013. During her time across the Red River, she wrote as a journalist for the student newspaper, The Concordian. Postgrad, Marisa spent a year living in Albertville, France. Apart from an affinity for travel, she has continued her writing as a freelancer for various websites and companies.
Most recently, Marisa worked with Gideen.com, a music industry startup out of Los Angeles. Her content focused on music research and the surrounding culture for low-profile musicians.
Marisa thrives off hearing and telling stories, and she is genuinely excited to be returning to the FM area to make entrepreneurial voices heard. Do not be afraid to give her a warm welcome this week as she undertakes her new role – it is likely she will be in attendance at many of our events during the upcoming months.
Finally, she is also “really looking forward to having a big slice of Spicy Pie and a boba drink from Teaberry.” And she probably didn’t think that would be the only quotation we use in the article.
Welcome, Marisa!
