Emerging Prairie co-founder Greg Tehven has officially accepted the executive leadership role within the organization. He will lead Emerging Prairie on its mission to connect and celebrate the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and has committed to a minimum two-year term in the position.
“I think the opportunity to build and expand on the growing energy in our community is exciting and couldn’t be passed up,” Tehven said.
Through the efforts of Emerging Prairie leadership and with the support of the community the weekly event 1 Million Cups successfully began and is now on its second year, events like TEDxFargo, Startup Weekend, Startup Drinks and hackathons are now a major part of the community, and other meet-ups have been created as a result, further connecting the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Tehven is one of the four founders of Emerging Prairie, in addition to Miguel Danielson, Jake Joraanstad, and Andy Christensen, and is also one of the three current Directors of the organization.
Tehven’s acceptance of the leadership position comes after a brief search for an Executive Director. It was during the search that Tehven saw the unique role of Emerging Prairie in the local community and state of North Dakota, as well as his desire to expand that role.
“I believe Fargo is at a place in history where something truly special is possible,” he said. “I look forward to being a small part of that.”
