CoCo Fargo is continuing to build and grow their community through some upcoming events, kicking it off last night with a Halloween Happy Hour for members and guests.Community manager Rachel Sternhagen, posing as a 50’s girl in a poodle skirt, provided snacks like chips and dip, homemade cupcakes and orange-frosted cookies, and drinks like pumpkin ale and red wine.

Guests brought shrimp cocktail and pretzels, and mingled in the kitchen conversing on recent projects and upcoming events; CoCo member Shannon Luney, who spoke at 1 Million Cups this morning, shared how Girl Develop It Fargo held a successful first course last Tuesday. Other guests shared upcoming wedding plans and their perspective on Fargo growth.

Exchanging personal updates and upcoming events is a key component to the CoCo community, Sternhagen said.

“We are trying to build a community, so it’s important for people to interact with each other outside of the office environment,” she said.

Events like this are also a good time to explore the snazzy new space above King House Buffet. First-timer Kent Kolstad from Livewire Entertainment said he thought the space was “fabulous” and plans to bring others to see CoCo Fargo.

If you missed this event, be sure to come next week to CoCo’s Membership Spotlight event on Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 12-1 pm. This event is free and open to the public, and will be the first in a series designed to showcase the businesses and members of CoCo that are doing amazing things!  Lunch will be provided, and four members will be sharing what they are doing in our community.

“It’ll give people a better idea of what the members are doing, and any spaces they see for collaboration in the future,” Sternhagen said.

Those who missed the Happy Hour can also still compete in CoCo’s Halloween costume contest, which is going on until Friday. You may have a hard time competing with Buddy the dog, CoCo’s mascot, who won cutest costume award last night with his hamburger costume.
