The Offutt School of Business at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, recently welcomed Bill Gates to campus as part of the dedication ceremonies for the new Grant Center — home to the Offutt School. In addition to Gates, speakers at the April 27 dedication event included Ron Offutt, namesake of the Offutt School and founder and chairman of RDO Equipment Co., and Harold Hamm, founder and CEO of oil company Continental Resources.
The dedication event welcomed nearly 4,000 ticket holders to see Gates speak. The new Grant Center is a state-of-the art educational facility with over 53,000 square feet of space and a construction cost of $16.2 million. Classes at the facility began in January of this year. The building features many green technologies and is pending LEED certification.
The newly remodeled Grant Center is expected to be a major hub for entrepreneurial activity in the coming years, both within the College and the greater Fargo-Moorhead community.
