Veronica Michael, CEO and Director of Sales at Prairie Products, will be presenting at 1 Million Cups Fargo on February 19. She plans to discuss who their company is and what they do! 1 Million Cups takes place from 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. and takes place in NDSU’s Barry Hall on the Mezzanine level.
About Veronica
Veronica Michael, CEO of Prairie Products, attended Minnesota State University of Moorhead and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. A fun fact about their warehouse equipment and systems is that Tom, CFO and COO of Prairie Products, built most of them with his woodworking skills. Veronica loves dachshunds because of their high energy and adventurous spirit!
About Prairie Products
Prairie Products was founded in 2017 by a small group of people, including Veronica and Tom, while they were waiting for the 2018 Farm Bill to pass. Veronica explains, “While growing the business, we decided on a collaborative management style, which means that Tom and I run it together and are supported by a staff of around 7.” Prairie Products is focused on bringing in another revenue stream to North Dakota using the form of hemp. They sell “raw CBD materials in the forms of a full spectrum CBD crude, a CBD distillate and now, a CBD consumer retail product.” Prairie Products essentially helps everyone within the hemp industry. Prairie Products was brought about when some of its founders had used CBD and experienced some of its healing benefits. They also noticed a consumer trend towards using more plant-based remedies that was beginning to emerge and the idea of Prairie Products began to look like a great opportunity. Veronica explained, “We decided to focus on the extraction side because there was a lack of extractors in the area. So, farmers could grow hemp but then would have to pay high transport fees to get it processed in another state eating into any earnings from the crop.” Their mission is “to create premium raw CBD materials and extraction services for the wholesale and agricultural markets using the highest quality biomass combined with a superior extraction process”.
Event Details
Veronica plans to highlight what Prairie Products is all about and their future plans for releasing a CBD retail product. She thinks it’s important to speak at events like 1 Million Cups because “We also believe it’s important to support our communities, so we hope to help bring visibility to all the farmers growing hemp and to the fact that we’re making a ND based retail product, which we’re really proud of.”
